SONY officials say they plan to add a mobile phone into its upcoming gaming PSP Go module.

They also hope other developers will provide ideas and develop other contents for the system.

If it comes true, PSP Go will compete against the hugely successful Apple iPhone which is an all-purpose mobile device.

The authority says the PSP Go will mainly do gaming, but is certainly an opportunity for the system to do other non-gaming applications. No further information or details is provided. From media reports, prototype will be available the end of this summer to test the market.
