Sony Ericsson, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Apple and other mobile phone makers today has reached a deal and agreed on one Industry Standard phone charger for all their mobile phones selling in 2012.

The new phone charger will use a standard micro-USB connector which is already used in some phone makers such as Nokia.

The most important advantage for the action is to reduce electronics waste as people can reuse their phone chargers for any brand new mobile phones they will purchase after 2012. The act also helps phone makers to reduce cost.
